Objective

To investigate the effect of ultrasonic therapy for nonneoplastic epithelial disorders of skin and mucosa of vulva (NEDV).

Methods

From January 2010 to January 2011,a total of 73 cases of NEDV patients were treated and randomly (according to numbers of treatment) divided into two groups:ultrasonic therapy group(n= 36), drug therapy group(n = 37). There were no significant difference in general clinical data between two groups (P>0. 05). Observe the clinical symptoms, signs and histological changes between two groups. The study protocol was approved by the Ethical Review Board of Investigation in Human Beings of Nanjing Pukou District Center Hospital. Informed consent was obtained from each participating patient.

Results

The ultrasonic treatment group of 36 patients with vulva pruritus symptom disappeared basically, and epithelium lesions in different level back to normal, the cure and significant efficiency rate was 91. 7 %. Comparison of curative effect between different pathological type in the same group, the data has no significant difference (P>0. 05). There had significant difference between two groups in cure rate and significant efficiency rate (P<0. 05).

Conclusions

Curative effect of ultrasonic therapy for NEDV is obvious.
