Objective

To indentify a set of genes related to human papillomavirus 16(HPV 16)of cervical cancer and to discuss the pathogenesis of cervical cancer.

Methods

3 women of cervical cancer infected with human papillomavirus 16 were seclected by Hybrid capture Ⅱ. The human gene expression of cervical cancer and normal cervical tissues were analyzed with 14 112 human genes of cDNA microarray.

Results

244 differential genes expressiond in cervical cancer were screened out. Among them, 136 were up-regulated, 108 were down-regulated. These genes belongs to signal transduction, metabolism, immunity response, protein biosynthesis and ESTs.

Conclusion

Cervical cancer induced by HPV16 is a result of coeffected by polygene and multiple factors. These genes reticulate regulated eachother, direct or indirect in progression to cervical cancer, and cDNA microarray technique is effective in screening out the differentially expressioned genes, and further investigation and functional characterization of the dentified genes is needed to clarify the accurate pathogenesis of cervical cancer.
