Current research status of mechanism of progesterone receptor in human endometrial stroma cell deciduation

Human endometrial stroma cell decidualization (hESCD) is a key link in embryo implantation and pregnancy maintenance. hESCD mainly means that endometrium undergoes a series of biological and morphological changes and extracellular matrix reconstruction by effects of progesterone and progesterone receptor (PGR) after ovulation. However, up to now, the specific molecular mechanism of progesterone-PGR signal pathway in hESCD has not been fully elucidated. This paper focuses on recent research status of the structure and subtypes of PGR, physiological function and regulation network of progesterone-PGR signal pathway, and relationship between abnormal PGR and abnormal diseases of hESCD.
