Dexmedetomidine (DEX) is a highly selective α2 adrenoceptor agonist, which has been widely used in cesarean section anesthesia and labor analgesia in recent years. Recent clinical research results have proved that DEX has unique advantages in cesarean delivery, such as improving the analgesic effect during and after cesarean section, effectively preventing and treating chills, traction reactions and adverse reactions caused by uterine contractions during cesarean section, maintaining hemodynamic stability, and improving labor analgesic effect. The author intends to elaborate the research progress of DEX in cesarean section anesthesia and labor analgesia.
