Objective

To investigate the effects of CO2 laser treatment for cervical erosion patients with high risk human papilloma virus(HR-HPV) infection and clinical manifestations.

Methods

From January to December 2015, 48 cervical erosion patients with HR-HPV infection combined with clinical symptoms or signs who received CO2 laser treatment in Yangzhou Maternal and Child Care Service Centre were chosen as research subjects. The difference of effective rates between cervical erosion level of mild/moderate and severe was compared. Understand the human papilloma virus (HPV) turn negative rate of the 48 patients after treatment.

Results

After CO2 laser treatment, the treatment effective rate of 27 cases of mild/moderate cervical erosion patients was 96.3% (26/27), the treatment effective rate of 21 cases of severe cervical erosion patients was 90.5%(19/21), there was no significant difference between two effective rates (χ2=0.050, P=0.823). The HPV-DNA recheck results after 3-6 months of operation of 48 patients, 45 cases turned to negative and 3 cases still remained positive. The turn negative rate of HPV was 93.8%(45/48) after operation.

Conclusions

CO2 laser treatment is an effective method for the treatment of cervical erosion patients with HR-HPV infection combine with clinical manifestations.
