Perinatal management of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection

The novel coronavirus infection has been continuously prevalent in China recently. On February 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Coronavirus Study Group of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses officially named the new coronavirus as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for its caused diseases. Pregnant women and newborns are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2, and because of their special physiological characteristics, they are payed more attention by clinic. This paper describes the recent clinical and basic research and guidelines on SARS-CoV-2 infection in newborns and pregnant women and provides practical reference for perinatal management of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
