Effect of medical treatment of endometriosis after hysteroscopy combined with laparoscopy operation

Objective

To study the medical treatment effect of endometriosis (EMS) after hysteroscopy combined with laparoscopy operation.

Methods

From June 2010 to January 2013, 128 patients with EMS in Xinhua Hospital of Hubei Province were included in the study. They were randomly divided into observation group(n=64, use gestrinone after operation) and control group(n=64, use triptorelin after operation). There were no significant differences in general condition such as age, duration of disease, stage and so on between two groups(P>0.05). The pregnancy rate, recurrence rate, dysmenorrhea points, serum CA125 level and drug adverse reaction rate were observed.

Results

There were no significant difference in pregnancy rate(26.6% vs 25.0%) and recurrence rate(14.1% vs 10.9%)between two groups(P>0.05). There were significant differences in dysmenorrhea points[(9.3±1.1) points vs (4.2±0.7) points, (9.1±1.0) points vs (4.3±0.6) points] and serum CA125 level[(139.4±27.2) U/mL vs (31.1±7.3) U/mL, (133.7±26.9) U/mL vs (35.4±8.1) U/mL] between before and after treatment in both groups(q=5.182, 6.086, 10.282, 13.048; P<0.01). But no significant differences were found in dysmenorrhea points[(4.2±0.7) points vs (4.3±0.6) points] and serum CA125 level [(31.1±7.3) U/mL vs (35.4±8.1) U/mL) ]between two groups after treatment(q=0.128, 1.734; P>0.05). The drug adverse reaction rate in observation group (28.1%) was obviously lower than that of control group (42.2%), and there was significant difference(q=6.296, P<0.05).

Conclusions

There was a considerable effect through gestrinone and triptorelin after laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for patients with EMS. But during treatment, women who used triptorelin had lower drug adverse reaction than who used gestrinone.
