Postpartum hemorrhage, as a common obstetric complication, threatens maternal life if it develops quickly and fiercely. Maternal mortality due to postpartum hemorrhage continues to be one of the most important causes of maternal death nationwide and worldwide. It is rapid development from onset to the death of postpartum hemorrhage patients, early diagnosis and effective treatment are required to save maternals' life. In other words, early identification and prognosis of postpartum hemorrhage are closely related. However, there is no recognition for early identification of postpartum hemorrhage and avoiding trap in clinical practice currently. We focused on domestic and international data, inferring that early identification of postpartum hemorrhage requires analysis by synthesis of risk factors, quantification of blood loss volume and effective clinical indicators, which can avoid to believe error indicators blindly and miss rescue opportunity.
