To compare the clinical effectiveness, safety between transvaginal myomectomy (TVM). and laparoscopic myomectomy.
The clinical data of 35 patients with TVM (TVM group) and 41 patients with laparoscopic myomectomys (laparoscope group) between June 2006 to June 2010 in Huan'an Second People's Hospital were collected and compared. There was no statistical differences on age,the size of uterine fibroid, history of vaginal delivery and operation on pelvis in the past medical history between the two groups.
No statistical differences were found in the successful rate of operation, operation duration, duration, blood loss, myoma size, the time of first passage of flatus and postoperative morbidity between 2 groups (P>0. 05). More myoma, shorter hospital stays and less hospitalization expenses were achieved in TVM group compared with laparoscope group.
TVM is highly recommended because of its mininal invasiveness, safety and economy advantages.
