The research on the value of serum creatine kinase in diagnosis of placenta increta

Objective

To evaluate the value of serum creatine kinase (CK) in diagnosis of placenta increta.

Methods

The activity of serum CK in 40 normal gravidas and 40 placenta increta gravidas with high risk factors was Determinated, respectively.

Results

18 placenta increta were found in high risk factor group. The activity of serum CK in placenta increta (142. 74 ± 28. 16 IU/L) was higher than that in normal group (60. 74±17. 76 IU/L), P<0. 01. To select 95 IU/L as the cutoff point, the sensitivity was94. 4%, specificity was 93. 5%, positive predictive value was 81. 0% , and the negative predictive value was 98. 3%.

Conclusion

The activity of serum CK was useful in diagnosis of placenta increta predelivery, which could be a new method to screen and diagnose the placenta increta.
